Activity Number Three: Dvolver Moviemaker

Now that you have made an introduction with Tagxedo Creator and created your slideshow with Smilebox, you are ready to make your short movie using Dvolver Moviemaker about your Christmas anecdote or experience. Then you are going to show all it to your classmates. Now I will explain you how to do it.

Task:

- Create al least 3 scenes describing your anecdote.

- Use at least 3 different characters.

- Post it in the comments with it explanation if necessary, and in your class webpage if you have one. 

1. First you are going to enter here: http://www.dvolver.com/moviemaker/make.html

2. Then you choose the ''Background'' and ''Sky'' you want to use from the ones you have on the left side of the webpage. Use the arrows to go downwards to see more backgrounds and skies.

3. Then you click ''Next'' and now you have to choose the type of dialogue you want use. You can choose between ''Rendez-Vous, Pick-Up, Chase and Soliloquoy''. On the right side you have and example of how each dialogue will develop in the movie. When you have chosen one click ''Next'' again.

4. In my example I chose ''Rendez-Vous'' and now you have to choose two characters for the scene. Press ''Next''.

5. In this part you have to enter the dialogue between the two characters. We almost finish with it, then click ''Next'' again and you will be taken to the background music option.

6. In this part choose between the different background music on the left side of the webpage. Now you can choose between adding a new scene or finishing the movie by clicking ''Add new scene'' or ''Finish movie''. If you add a new scene you have to repeat the same steps from number 2.

7. If you finish the movie, you will have to choose one of the ''Title designs'' and also add the title and your name. At the bottom there's a preview of the introduction. Then you have to click ''Preview and send movie''.

8. Once you have done the previous step, you must enter the name of the people you will send it, and also their e-mails and then yours, and click ''Send''. This part is to send your movie to your friends but then you have one more step.

9. In this last step you will see and embedded code that you can use to add the movie to your personal webpage, or place it in someone else's.

Activity Number Four: Glogster

In this last activity, now that you have created and shown your slideshow and movie based on your own personal anecdote or experience, I want you to create a poster of it to make more people became interest and in seeing it. To do so, we are going to use Glogster which is a tool to create a kind of online poster of everything you want.

Task:

- Make a Chrismas gift list with at least 5 things you want or wanted.

- Add a picture of each gift and some effects, etc.

- Post it in the comments and the class webpage.

1. First go to this link: http://www.glogster.com/, and create an account  by pressing the ''Sign Up'' bottom on the top right corner of the webpage.

2. Now you can see in your account a big red bottom that says ''Create new glog'', you have to press it and then you will see a new wall.

3. In this wall or poster you will find some things that you can add to your poster as an example. 

4. For example you can grasp this monster's moustache and place it in somewhere else, rotating it or delete it. What you are going to do is to delete everything in the poster so you can start with the activity.

5. On the left side you will see a series of option from which you will choose ''Wall'', and then choose the image you want to use in your poster. and click ''Use it''

6. The next step is to use some ''Graphics'' on your poster, remember that it has to do with your movie and Christmas. You can choose as many as you want from the different categories.

7. Click and hold on the graphic to move it wherever you want on the poster, you can alto rotate it and compress or expand it by the corners.

8. Now you have to choose the ''Text'' option and add one of the text bubbles in the category. 

9. As well as change the size of it, rotate and move it, you can also write something in it by clicking the ''Edit'' bottom.

10. And by clicking the ''Abc'' bottom on it, you can change the colour, font and size of the text you wrote.

11. Now you will choose ''Image'' and upload as many images as you want from your computer.

12. You can choose them later and place it on your poster too. You can also move, rotate and change its sizes like the other objects you have added to the poster.

13. Another way to add images to the poster is by coping the link in the new window that appears when you click the ''Link'' bottom.

14. Once you have finished with it, your will ''Save or Publish'' it.

15. In this window just write down your glog name, choose a category in which you want to place it and click ''Save''.

16. And you finish it, in the new window you have the link to your poster and also an embedded code to use in your webpage.

Activity Number Two: Smilebox

In this activity I want you to create a slideshow about one of the Christmas parties you had that you really liked and then share it with your friends. I am going to explain you how to use Smilebox step-by-step.


Task:

- Make 5 slides with at least one picture each one related to Christmas.

- I want you to post it in the blog comments and in your class webpage if you have one.

- Make a comment explaining what happen in each picture or the whole scene.

1. First you have to go to this link and press where it says ''Get started'', and once you have downloaded  the software to your computer, you are going to install it.

2. Once you have already installed the software on your computer, you are going to open the program and fill in the form to create your account. Then press where it says ''Create account'' and you are ready to start with your slideshow.

3. First click on ''New'' and select the style want or search for it  with the ''Search'' option. 

4. When you click on it, the program will show you a small preview of it, and you are going to click on ''Personalize''.

5. It will be download to your folder of designs.

6. And then you can start by searching your photos in the computer clicking on ''Get photos''.

7. You will open and look for the photos in your folders.

8.You can select one or more than one photograph and drag them to the left side of the program to the blank on top of the ''Get photos'' bottom. After that you clock on ''Done''. And the next step is to drag each photo on a different  slide. You can add something about the picture where it says ''Add your text here''.

9. When you have finished with the slides, click on ''Save'' and write a name for your slideshow in the new window and click ''Save'' again.

10. Then click on ''Share, print, or DVD'' and then ''Post'' in order to share it with friends.

11. You must write a name for it again and choose ''Basic design'' in the next window after click ''Continue''.

12. And finally you will get your embedded code to copy it in your personal webpage or Facebook wall, etc.

Activity Number One: Tagxedo Creator

In this first activity I want you to create an image with words. You must use words related to Christmas, it can be something that happened to you or a friend, or it can be just an anecdote you want to tell us about.

Task:

- Use at least 15 different words related to Christmas.

- I want you to post it in the blog comments and in your class webpage if you have one.

- Make a comment explaining what you wanted to create or what it is about.

To do so, I am going to explain to you how to use Tagxedo Creator which is a perfect 2.0 tool for this activity.

1. You are going to enter this link http://www.tagxedo.com/app.html which takes you to the tool. You don't have to create an account to start using the tool.

2. When you open the website an example is shown. On the left side of the webpage there is a series of options from which you are going to choose the very first one that says ''Load...''.

3. Then a little window will appear above the image in which you have 3 options. In this window you are going t enter the words or text you want to use in your image. The first option says ''File Browse..'', here you can use a txt file from your computer. The second option (''Webpage..'') is to use a webpage as source of text and words. And the third option is the one we are going to use, where it says ''Enter Text'' you are going to enter as  many words as you can, in my example I introduce the whole song of Itzy Bitzy Spider.

4. After you press ''Submit'' all the words you entered will appear random arranged as you can see. In the left side where it says Options, you will choose ''Shape''.

5. A new window will appear containing different shapes that you can choose, but you are  going to add a new image from your computer by using the option ''Add Image...''.

6. When you add it, you can choose the threshold and blur of it as well as the type of brush used, and after that you press ''Accept''.

7. Then you will see how the words rearrange with the image shape you hava chosen. And if you don't like the colours or word order, you can change it by clicking the spinning arrow next to ''Colour, Theme, Font, Orientation, Layout, or All''.

8. This is my example in which you can see how I have changed the layout, colour and font of the words. 

9. Finally you will click on ''Save, share, print'' and in the new window choose ''Web'' and write down your name and the title for the image, and click ''Submit''.

10. And now your will be shown a link to your image and the embedded code where it says ''IFrame code snippet''.
